When to use this

It is less suited to finding the exact technical term for something, which is a dictionary question, or to translating a whole sentence, which is a translator question. Use it to vary and refine wording you already have, not to discover meaning from scratch.
How this works
When you enter a word, the tool queries the Datamuse API, a word-association engine that returns related words ranked by how strongly they substitute for your input. Datamuse builds its associations from large corpora of published text, so the synonyms it returns are words that genuinely appear in similar contexts, not just dictionary equivalents.
If your word is not in English, the tool first detects its language, translates it to English, looks up English synonyms through Datamuse, then translates each result back into your original language. This lets the synonym finder work across the supported languages even though the underlying association engine is English-centric.
Synonym quality is highest for common words with clear substitutes — "happy", "big", "important" each return dozens of usable alternatives. For technical terms, proper nouns and very rare words, the pool of substitutes is smaller or empty. Clicking any returned word runs a new lookup on it, so you can walk through the vocabulary until you find the register you want.

You are writing an email in English and have used "happy" twice already — you want a different word.
