Editorial Policy
DoIt International editorial policy: how content is created, fact-checked, reviewed, and corrected. Independent, advertising-separated, and dated.
1. Editorial principles
DoIt International is an independent utility site. Our tools and articles are created to be accurate, useful, and easy to understand. Editorial decisions are made by our editors and engineers, not by advertisers. Advertising never determines which tools we build, which formulas we use, or what our guides say.
2. How content is created
Calculators begin with a documented, standard formula. An engineer implements it and writes a worked example and a plain-language explanation. Guides and landing-page copy are drafted by an editor who cites the source for any factual claim. Every page is written for a general audience and avoids jargon where a plain phrase will do.
3. How content is checked
Before publication, a second team member reviews each page. For calculators, the reviewer verifies the formula against an independent source, recomputes the worked example by hand, and tests edge cases (zero, negative, and very large inputs). For guides, the reviewer checks every factual claim against its cited source and reads the copy for clarity and neutrality. Pages are dated so you can see when they were last reviewed.
4. Sources and citations
We prefer primary and widely recognised sources: published formulas, official standards, and reputable public APIs. Each calculator and guide lists its sources on the page. Where a value is an estimate or assumption, we say so explicitly.
5. How content is corrected
If we discover an error, or a reader reports one, we triage it within two business days. If the error is confirmed, we correct the page, update the “last reviewed” date, and record the change in our internal review log. Significant corrections are noted on the affected page. 6. Advertising and independence
The site is supported by advertising, including ads served by Google. Ads are clearly distinguishable from content and never influence our calculations, formulas, or editorial copy. We do not accept payment to change a calculator’s result or a guide’s conclusions. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising and cookies work.
7. Review cadence
We re-review calculators and guides at least annually, and sooner when the underlying formula, regulation, or data source changes. Policies are dated and re-reviewed at least annually. See our Methodology page for the formulas and data sources behind each tool.
