It is the quickest way to see what a "30% off" tag actually costs you at the till, and whether the saving is worth the impulse.

Cómo se calcula esto

This calculator applies a percentage discount to an original price. The sale price is the original multiplied by (1 − discount percentage), and the saving is the original minus the sale price. A €80 item at 25% off becomes €60, saving €20.

For stacked discounts — a common retail tactic — the reductions apply in sequence, not by adding the percentages. A 20% discount followed by another 10% equals 28% off overall, not 30%, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.

The model is direct percentage arithmetic on a single price. It does not include sales tax or VAT on the discounted price (use the VAT calculator for that), minimum-spend conditions, bundle or "buy one get one" offers, or shipping costs that can erode the saving on online purchases.

Ejemplo resuelto

An €80 item marked 25% off.

  1. 1Sale price = 80 × (1 − 0.25) = 80 × 0.75 = €60.
  2. 2Saving = 80 − 60 = €20.
  3. 3With a further 10% off the sale price: 60 × 0.90 = €54, an overall saving of €26 (32.5% off, not 35%).

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Cómo se calcula el precio rebajado?
Precio rebajado = Original × (1 − descuento%).
How is the sale price calculated?
Sale price = original × (1 − discount%). For an €80 item at 25% off, the sale price is €60 and the saving is €20. The discount always reduces the original price by that fraction.
What about stacked discounts?
Apply them in sequence, not by adding. A 20% discount followed by another 10% equals 28% off overall, not 30%, because the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.
